Scan the Inventory

The next step is to scan in the inventory using the PT40 data collection unit.

This is done using the “Item & Qty” program on the scanner.

• If you scan a single item more than once the qty from each scan will be added to the

PO. Make sure your scans only reflect one Unit of Measure Conversion Factor per

item. -see “Assumptions / Rules section for details.

• There is a chance to review and edit quantities later.

• If an item does not have a bar code you can scan, you may type the item code into the

PT40 using the keypad.

• Once all items have been scanned upload the data from the PT40 into your computer.

Upload Data from PT40 to Computer

You may upload data from the PT40(s) to the computer as often as you wish. If the same item

is scanned more than once the counts will be added together. If this happened inadvertently, the

counts can be edited later in TurningPoint.

To upload the data from the PT40 to the computer Launch XFER32

Click Receive Files.

In the File Name field type poreceiving.csv

Then click Open.

You must use poreceiving.csv as the file name.

You must save the file in the PTdata folder we created earlier.
